Summer extracurricular activity 2014 – going to the theater

Among the interesting extracurricular activities of the international summer program 2014, Asian International School held a visit to the Saigon Drama Theatre in District 3, HCMC for over 400 students on July 12, 2014. This was a useful extracurricular activity helping the students to better understand about the art of drama, develop aesthetic appreciation, build awareness about family love and social rules as well as to relax after their study time.

Living up to the students’ expectations, the play was very interesting and appealing. The play was about the love story of two twin sisters. There was a happy family in which many unusual things happened when the older sister was killed by a sudden accident. Using both tragicomic and horror elements, the play was a life story performed on stage with excellent sound and lighting effects. These features of the play brought the audience some entertainment and allowed them to contemplate life. The young audience felt extremely relaxed, and experienced many different emotions when watching the play.

With educational value about humanity, the play helped students to become more aware of the value of family love and social ethics. Going to the theatre was a meaningful extracurricular activitiy in the summer program of the Asian International School. Besides, this activity brought students fun and comfort and made them feel closer to each other.
