AHS Joins The Second Festival of Private And International School Detachments
Following the City Detachment Council's plan, on 27/12/2012, pioneers from private and international school detachments in Ho Chi Minh City attended the "The Second Festival of Private and International School Detachments 2012". This is a major policy of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union which aims to create a healthy and useful playground for private and international school detachments in Ho Chi Minh City to exchange and show their talent.
In the morning of 27/12/2012, The Asian International School students representing District 1 attended “The Festival of Private and International School Detachments” at Lawrence S.Ting School. Attending the festival was Ms. Trần Thị Diệu Thúy - Deputy Secretary of City Youth Union, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Detachment Council; Dương Ngọc Tuấn - Deputy Director of Children's Board, Vice President of City Detachment Council and members of the City Detachment Council. At the festival, The Asian International School detachments had an opportunity to exchange with District 7, Binh Thanh District, District 5 and Go Vap District detachments and participate in many interesting competitions.
To open the exchange, all school detachments gathered at Lawrence S.Ting School’s hall to participate in the opening ceremony. At the hall, pioneers from The Asian International School created a good impression when enthusiastically attending the exchange activities.

After the opening ceremony, all team members of each school were divided into small groups to participate in different competitions including: folk games; knowledge competition with the theme "The Pride of Vietnamese History "; a painting contest "I love my homeland islands"; a competition "I've got talent"; a game of exercise. The team members would select the appropriate competition to take part in based on their aptitude.

A knowledge competition with the theme “The Pride of Vietnamese History” attracted the fifty pioneers’ attention. Historical background to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers and Vietnamese historical knowledge, which are reminded in an interesting game named “the Golden Bell Ring”, made all team members extremely excited.

The drawing competition “I love my homeland islands” attracted many painters. The Asian International School students brought the competition beautiful paintings which showed the slogan “Hoang Sa – Truong Sa are the Vietnamese’s” and conveyed their dream about visiting navy soldiers.

The competition “I’ve got talent” held in the hall helped The Asian International School students show off their English singing abilities and their confidence on the stage. Besides, there were plenty of spectacular performances of other detachments. The competition was a chance for The Asian International School students to learn and make friends.

The festival ended with the closing ceremony and giving prizes to the winners of the competitions. The members of The Asian International School had a meaningful exchange. The festival is a chance for The Asian International School students to make new friends, participate in games and learn new knowledge. The festival is a good memory for all team members. The Asian International School students will surely attend the next festival held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
